Jesus Died for You! He took the punishment for YOUR sins.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is the Messiah that was promised.   He came down from His Heavenly palace to this humble earth, and He came here to die.   He came here to die… FOR YOU!   Why did He die for me?   To understand this, you first have to realize that we all are sinners.   I have sinned, you have sinned.   Everyone has broken God’s law at some time or another.   But Jesus did no sin.    He never once sinned.   He knew that on our own we would never be “good enough” to get into Heaven.   We could never do enough “good works” to outweigh the bad that we had done.  He knew that if you died in your sins, you would end up burning in Hell forever.   So He died for us, and when He died, He took our penalty on Himself.   He suffered our punishment for our sins Himself so we wouldn’t have to.   He lived a perfect life for you, because you couldn’t, the He died to take away your sins, because you couldn’t get rid of them yourself.

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Jesus died so that you could live forever.   Eternal life (in Heaven) is a free gift from God, but you must accept the gift in order to receive it.  God holds it out to you, offering it to you.   But it’s not yours if you do not accept it.   You must be willing to repent of your sins, and believe that Christ has forgiven you to receive eternal life.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 3:36

Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to salvation/eternal life.   There is NO OTHER WAY.

Neither is there salvation in any other [besides Jesus Christ]: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 4:12

If you accept Christ, you will be ‘saved’ from your sins and granted eternal life.   But if you reject Christ, you will have the wrath of God on you.   And that is not a good thing.   Now is the day of salvation.   You could die tomorrow.  You cannot chose Christ after you die.   Chose Him while you still can.
